Winners of 2006 Asian Bank Competitive Rankings was announced in Beijing recently and China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) was granted the award for Best Investor Relations in Asia.
The 2006 Asian Bank Competitive Rankings was co-organized by 21st Century Business Herald, the Department of Finance of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Guanghua School of Management of Beijing University. More than 100 commercial banks in Asia were ranked in terms of their comprehensive competitiveness, profitability, and objective and subjective indexes; members of the Rating Committee included academia from People’s Bank of China, China Banking Regulatory Commission, Asian Development Bank, Renmin University of China and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The Rating Committee believes that following its restructuring and successful IPO, CCB has made marked improvements in corporate governance, business process and service quality which are in line with international best practices; at the same time, unprecedented emphasis has also been placed to advocate its investor relations function.
